The Merritt College Horticulture Club hosts two Plant Sales each year. The Spring sale is held the first weekend in May, and the Fall sale is held the first weekend in October.
We have become known for our offerings of perennial vegetables, rare fruits and heirloom annual edibles, many of which cannot be found anywhere else. We also continue to expand our selection of California natives, Mediterranean climate plants, herbs, and unusual plants of all types. We grow 80-90% of our own plants, with our student club, volunteers, classes, faculty and staff all pitching in to provide the labor.
Sales are held in our nursery located at the Landscape Horticulture Department, Merritt College, 12500 Campus Dr. Oakland, CA 94619. Parking is quite limited at the Horticulture Department, so please plan to park on main campus and walk to the sale area. When you’re done shopping, we’ll hold your plants for you so you can drive up to the loading zone to pick them up.
