Urgent–Need Enrollments

Several fall classes need a few more enrollments to avoid cancellation…LH4 Shrubs, LH29E Planting Design, and LH52 Special Projects in Plant Propagation!  Each of these classes meets a requirement for one or more certificates, so check them out!

Shrub ID & Culture  (LH004) — Shrubs are the essential backbone of nearly every urban garden – learn appropriate shrubs for the Bay Area and how to care for them.  The afternoon lab lets you observe how these important plants perform in the landscape.  Fulfills a Plant ID requirement for several certificates.

3 units, Wednesdays, 10:00-11:50 am, 1:00-3:50 pm, H108/field, class code: 43287.

Planting Design (LH029E)  — Learn to use plants to define spaces, the ecological considerations of plant uses, planting design styles,  visual & aesthetic qualities of plants.  Only offered at night every other year, and required for both Design certificates and Landscape Design and Architecture degrees.

4 units, Tuesdays, 6:00 pm – 9:50 pm, plus 3 Saturday labs (9/7, 9/14, 9/21), H105, class code: 44178.

Special Projects in Plant Propagation (LH052)  — Take your propagation skills to the next level, and follow your interests — you choose the crop you want to grow and the techniques you want to perfect!  Plus guest speakers and field trips to expand your knowledge.  This class fulfills an elective for the Level C Nursery Management Certificate.

3 units, Tuesdays, 1:00 pm – 4:45 pm, H108/Greenhouse, class code: 43796.

NOTE: be sure to pay your tuition fees when you enroll.  Otherwise the system will automatically drop you…probably not what you want!
