Viewing PDFs

This site provides certain information in PDF format.  Viewing PDF files on the Internet is browser-dependent, and most commonly-used browsers have specific settings for how that browser should handle PDFs.  In addition, most (but not all) browsers rely on the user’s computer to provide the correct software for viewing PDF files.  Adobe Reader is the most popular software for this purpose and is available as a free download.  Click here to obtain Adobe Reader.

The PDFs on this site are intended to open within your browser window, either in the same window or a new window or tab.

  • If you have already obtained and installed Adobe Reader, and yet when you click a link labeled PDF, nothing happens, please check the documentation for your particular browser/release.
  • If all else fails, try right-mouse clicking the link for a list of commands.  Most browsers will allow you to download the file directly to your computer.  In Internet Explorer, the command is “Save Target As…”.  In Firefox and Chrome, the command is “Save Link As…”.

A final note: the Internet is under constant attack by hackers.  The most recent versions of software typically contain the best available security protections, so it’s generally a good idea to stay as up-to-date as possible.
