New Course: Ethnobotany

ETHNOBOTANY LH 896 with Glenn Keator, starting September 4th, Tuesdays from 6:30pm-9:30pm in H105, $320.

~We regret that this class has been cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, but hope to offer it again in a future semester.~

Ethnobotany is an often-neglected botanical subject with a fascinating history throughout the world. Plants have made life possible and livable for all cultures from the very inception of human evolution.

This short course will first consider a world view, then focus on plants native to California and their roles in Indian life. We’ll end with an overview of where we stand currently and where we might go with appropriate horticulture.

FEE-BASED CLASSES ARE NOT LISTED FOR ON-LINE ENROLLMENT. TO ENROLL, CALL 510/436-2413.  Please enroll now; this course was added to the schedule late and needs enrollments!
