New Freehand Sketching Class!

Here’s a great new summer class (fee-based) that’s likely to be an exceptional experience for anyone interested in developing free-hand drawing skills.  And, don’t delay.  As a first time offering, it’s sure to fill quickly!

LANHT899: Landscape Sketching in the Field

  • Meets: Fridays, 10 am – 3:30 pm with half-hour lunch break; June 4 – July 10 (6 sessions).
  • First class meets in H105; remaining classes meet in the field.
  • Class Fee: $150
  • Instructor: Chris Grampp (Instructor in Landscape Architecture and Design, Merritt College)

We’ll meet weekly at a nearby Bay Area location, and spend the day drawing the landscape. We’ll discuss line and tone techniques, composition and layout, gesture, and techniques for drawing plants & materials. Everyone is welcome in this class regardless of experience (including beginners).

LANHT 899 will meet 6 times from June 4 – July 10, 10am – 3:30pm (includes 30 minutes for lunch). Our first class will meet on Thursday June 4 in room H105 at the Landscape Horticulture Department, 12500 Campus Drive, Oakland CA. The remaining 5 classes will meet on Fridays in the field.
