Saturday Classes for November 2012

November offers the opportunity to learn some helpful pruning techniques, including pruning of container plants and how to reduce neglected and overgrown trees and shrubs. These are fee-based classes that anyone can take. Register at least 10 days in advance of class by calling Dera Williams at 510.436.2413, or to register same day, come 15 minutes early to class with fee (cash or check only).

Saturday, Nov. 10 – Pruning Container Trees & Shrubs (LH816), 9:30 am – 12:20 pm, Room H101. Learn the specialized techniques necessary to have the healthiest and best-looking container trees & shrubs.  This course covers detail pruning, miniaturizing, wiring, positioning and care.  Tuition $39.00.  Bill Castellon, Instructor.

Saturday, Nov. 17 – The Art of Tree & Shrub Reduction & Correction (LH819), 9:30 am – 12:20 pm, Room H101. Learn how to solve a common pruning issue — how to restore to health and correct form neglected and overgrown trees & shrubs.  This course covers the techniques needed to massively reduce trees & shrubs, including the proper season for such work, how to plan your approach, and how to reconstruct the form.  Tuition: $39.00.  Chris Ingram, Instructor.
