Featured course: LH210ABC, Landscape Design Forum

LH210ABC, the Landscape Design Forum, is a unique class in our curriculum, and one not found in many Landscape Horticulture programs. The class forms a bridge between what students learn in school, and the work they do later on (or at the same time) as professionals. Each week we address a specific topic such as: business management issues (cost estimating, setting fees, legal, business, and ethical issues, working with clients); professional licensing options; designer and contractor profiles; nursery and landscape supply companies; CAD and plant database programs; films relevant to design; design drawing techniques; guest speakers on lighting, water features, rain gardens, creative recycling, and other specific applications; and much more. Some of our most interesting sessions involve students bringing in their own landscape designs for evaluation and critique before the class.

We offer LH210, the Landscape Design Forum, every semester. It is a 2 unit class, and you can take it for credit three times. It will be offered in the Fall 2012 semester on Tuesdays, 4-6pm, and everyone is welcome to sign up regardless of experience level (there are no prerequisites). Guests are welcome.
